Shelly Jeter is a 44-year-old single mother who has lived in Long Island, NY her entire life.  Since graduating with her Master’s Degree from Long Island University in 2018, she has been a Mental Health Counselor for 3 years.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Dowling College in Secondary Education, with a minor in History.  She also holds a CASAC Certification from Outreach Institute issued in 2013 and is now a Master CASAC.  Currently, Shelly Jeter is the Resource Coordinator for the Suffolk County Mental Health Court, where she oversees the day-to-day operations.  Mental Health Court is a court supervised program for those who suffer from mental illness and are arrested in Suffolk County on misdemeanor or felony charges.  As a single mother for 24 years, Shelly knows firsthand the struggles of making ends meet and providing for her family.  By partnering with the Together Beverages Single Mother’s Edition Team she will be instrumental in helping single mothers who find themselves in need of help with their day-to-day living expenses, temporary housing, rebuilding lost credit, and ultimately homeownership.
